I'll never forget the first time I saw City of Angels. I was with a bunch of my high school friends at my best friend's sweet sixteen slumber party. Not only was the movie wonderful, but it always reminds me of those fun times my friends and I had. If you love romance, you will love this movie. It's about the ultimate sacrifice and is just a beautiful love story.

At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon
$12.99 (3/25/2012)

This is one of my favorite books of all time and a wonderful beginning to a great series. Jan Karon lures you in with a great story line and keeps you hooked with well developed characters that you can't help but love.

It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable. Yet, Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge. Now, stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's sixty years old. Suddenly, Father Tim gets more than he bargained for. The Dulcie O'Neil Set by H.P. Mallory - AWESOME DEAL!

The Dulcie O'Neil Set Books 1, 2, and 3 by H.P. Mallory
$2.99

This is an absolutely steal! You're saving $6 off the set by buying them all together. I have read all the books in the series and am anxiously awaiting the release of the 4th book. If you love paranormal romance, you must get this set!

Book 1: To Kill A Warlock:

The murder of a dark arts warlock.
A shape-shifting, ravenous creature on the loose.
A devilishly handsome stranger sent to investigate.
Sometimes working law enforcement for the Netherworld is a real bitch.

Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy. And not the type to frolic in gardens. She’s a Regulator—a law-enforcement agent who monitors the creatures of the Netherworld to keep them from wreaking havoc in the mortal world.

When a warlock is murdered and Dulcie was the last person to see him alive, she must uncover the truth before she’s either deported back to the Netherworld, or she becomes the next victim.

Enter Knight Vander, a sinfully attractive investigator sent from the Netherworld to work the case with Dulcie.

Between battling her attraction to her self-appointed partner, keeping a sadomasochistic demon in check, and fending off the advances of a sexy and powerful vampire, Dulcie’s got her hands full.

As the body count increases, Dulcie finds herself battling dark magic, reconnoitering in S&M clubs and suffering the greatest of all betrayals.

Book 2: A Tale of Two Goblins:

A Dreamstalker— a creature that stalks and kills its victims in sleep.
A fairy in law enforcement determined to stop him.
A potions smuggler who possesses something she wants.
A vampire with his own agenda.
And a partner who couldn’t possibly be sexier or more frustrating.

Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy working in law enforcement for the Netherworld.

When Knight Vander approaches her with a case regarding comatose victims, she agrees to help him, imagining the most difficult part will be combatting her attraction to him.

But, what Dulcie isn’t betting on is the fact that the case becomes personal when she learns all the victims are somehow linked to her.

When her best friend falls victim to the Dreamstalker, Dulcie must do everything in her power to ensure her friend’s survival, including associating with criminals and accepting the fact that desperate times do definitely call for desperate measures.

Book 3: Great Hexpectations

A misunderstanding turned deadly.
A fairy in law enforcement who won't stop until the truth is uncovered.
A vampire who seems to be her ally but appearances can be deceiving.
And a partner who would put his own life on the line to defend hers.

Dulcie O'Neil knows she's at fault for failing to arrest a wanted criminal but when her partner gets pinned for the crime, she'll stop at nothing to ensure his innocence.

What Dulcie isn't planning on is a trip to the infamous Netherworld where chaos rules.

Between battling the affections of a mysterious vampire, protecting herself from monsters and ensuring the innocence of the one man who would die for her, Dulcie's trip to the Netherworld isn't sunshine and strawberry daiquiris.

Because... Emily isn't really Emily... her real name is Charity - and Charity has an even bigger secret. Charity and her family are not like other people, they have "skills" that mere mortals cannot begin to comprehend.

Something Wicked This Way Comes, Part 1 by Amileigh D'Lecoire

Three powerful Demons battle for control of middle earth in a centuries old struggle to exist.

Tinnea, the most ancient of the three, recently released from the pits of hell after being locked away by Moradieb for crimes against creation - He seeks to claim his unsuspecting bride and fill her with his seed until she gives him the promised son of prophesy, a Demon who will unite the underworld and finally enslave the fractured souls of middle earth for all eternity. Tinnea is determined to see his demon brethren placed upon the thrones of the heaven’s to rule over all Creation and will hunt relentlessly for Moradeib’s spawn for the promise of power that runs thick in her veins. He knows the truth of who and what her mother was, and knows that hers is a power more ancient and dark than any of them could ever have imagined.

Saldir, a sadistically perverse Incubus who feeds from the willing and unwilling alike with indiscriminate need - His insatiable thirst has left him with few followers, his lecherous, murderous greed legendary. His power continues to weaken with each passing year as he allows his hunger to destroy him, unable to find those who would willingly come to his bed and allow him to feed for fear of losing their very souls. It is only a matter of time before he is forced to abdicate his territories and serve his more powerful enemy or forfeit his soul. Could it be that the discovery of Moradeib’s spawn will finally re-awaken the former glory of his early days and give him the strength he needs to claim Moradeib’s territories for his own at last?

Moradeib, a cunningly seductive Incubus who currently controls the Southern districts and outer realms where the undead serve - The most powerful of the three ruling demons, he believes their kind should coax desire and feed only from the willing. His eager lovers on middle earth number in the hundreds of thousands; hungry, lustful souls who welcome him into their dreams and give willingly of their energies, responding to his practiced caresses as he seduces the truth of their hidden desires and brings them to life. Captivated by the sensual witch, Solange, he keeps her close as his favored concubine and cherished consort, aided by her undying loyalty in recruiting those who would serve him, body and soul. He has only one goal – defeat the vile Saldir once and for all and force him into servitude, claiming the pathetic demon’s scant power for his own and ridding middle earth of his deceptive seductions once and for all.

And each will seek the powerful blood of Moradeib’s daughter for their own, believing she is the key to victory. As she and her new lover begin to unravel the mystery of who she is, discovering the truth of her parentage as her powers slowly come to life, they find themselves plunged into a deadly battle for her very soul. It will be up to them to discover a path to balance between their world and that of the powerful incubi, working with Moradeib to defeat Saldir and Tinnea once and for all that they might create a doorway between their world and the next; a world of secret, carnal desires, where mankind and those who draw life from the whispered sins of their heated pleasures might co-exist.

I've never been a fan of Keanu Reeves. Well, unless you count when I was 6 and watched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures.....Anyway, I thought The Lake House starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock might be lacking, but I was so wrong. A Girl's Guide to Vampires by Katie MacAlister - KBOD

A Girl's Guide to Vampires by Katie MacAlister
$7.99 (3/24/2012)

This is another gem I stumbled upon in a thrift store and absolutely feel in love with. This book has all the elements of a wonderful paranormal romance and, I'll warn you, it has several spine-tingling sex scenes. I highly recommend this book for vampire lovers and give it 5 out 5 stars.

Joy Randall's Top 5 Tips for Vampire Hunters:
  • Location, location, location. Vampires won't be caught dead (ha!) in places like discos, ten-minute lube shops, or Switzerland. Remember, if you wouldn't be there, neither would a bloodsucker.
  • Trust your eyes. You know the handsome, annoyingly arrogant, self-assured man in the shadows with long hair and a cleft in his chin? He's your vampire.
  • No matter how tempting it might be, do not "accidentally" acquire a paper cut on your finger and suggest your vampire kiss it to make it better.
  • Play it cool. Don't offer to accompany your prince of the night on the talk-show circuit, and whatever you do, don't offer him your heart!
  • Most of all, remember: being a vampire is nothing to laugh about.

 Zombies! by Lelanthran Krishna Manickum

Zombies are people too …

Meet George. With his neighbours out for his blood, his coworkers after his hide and his ex-wife going in for the kill, George has had a really bad start to his day. It gets worse when the Zombie apocalypse happens, and people whom he has never even met actually do want to find out what his spleen tastes like (chicken, most likely, everything does, eventually, and with enough mayo). Now that everyone he knows has turned into flesh-eating monsters (well …. except for his ex-wife; she was always a tad blood-thirsty anyway), what’s a man to do but grab the first-aid box, the lunchbox and the ammo box and head for the hills.

Zombies were people too …

What kind of Zombie outbreak would take it’s chances in the leafy suburbs of Johannesburg, South Africa, undisputed crime-capital of the world? What kind of Zombie outbreak would happen in Johannesburg, a place where even the pitbulls go around in pairs? A place where you can hide a brainless body for years simply by electing it? What kind of outbreak indeed?

This one, that’s what! Zombies have never had it this bad before … There’s gunfire, explosions, hostage-taking, dismemberment, immolation and disembowelment … and that’s only the pest control companies fighting the annual rat infestation.

Zombies ate people too …

These Zombies are tough. These Zombies are mean. These Zombies are frighteningly smart too; smart enough to outwit the cops (although, to be fair to the Zombies, even algae sometimes outwitted the boys in blue) and smart enough to hire their own lawyer, who also turned out to be extremely tough herself … tough, and a little stringy too.

Zombies hate people too …

The Woman Who Loved Jesse James by Cindi Myers - FREE!!

The Woman Who Loved Jesse James by Cindi Myers
FREE (3/21/2012)

You absolutely MUST get this book if you love the wild west. Not only is it a beautifully written book, but it grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go. I cannot say enough about this book. With lines that read, "And what is wrong with a little sin if it makes me feel more alive?" It's plain to see that this book is destined to be an award winner.

"I never meant to fall in love with Jesse James, but I might as well have tried to stop a tornado or a prairie fire. The summer that sealed our fate, when we saw each other with new eyes and our love began to grow, Jesse was all heat and light, and I was tinder waiting for a match."Zee Mimms was just nineteen in 1864-the daughter of a stern Methodist minister in Missouri-when she fell in love with the handsome, dashing, and already notorious Jesse. He was barely more than a teenager himself, yet had ridden with William Quantrill's raiders during the Civil War. "You'll marry a handsome young man," a palm reader had told her. "A man who will make you the envy of many. But . . . there will be hard times." Zee and Jesse's marriage proved the palmist right. Jesse was a dangerous puzzle: a loving husband and father who kept his "work" separate from his family, though Zee heard the lurid rumors of his career as a bank robber and worse. Still, she never gave up on him. And he earned her love, time and again. Cindi Myers is the author of more than forty novels, both historical and contemporary. Her work has been praised for its depth of emotion and realistic characters. You can learn more about her and her work at www.CindiMyers.com or www.RomanceoftheWest.com.

Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding - KBOD

Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding
$12.99 (3/21/2012)

I absolutely love Bridget Jones's Diary. It's exactly what a romantic comedy should be. You'll laugh, cry, and connect with Bridget throughout the entire book.

Bridget Jones's Diary is the devastatingly self-aware, laugh-out-loud account of a year in the life of a thirty-something Singleton on a permanent doomed quest for self-improvement. Caught between the joys of Singleton fun, and the fear of dying alone and being found three weeks later half eaten by an Alsatian; tortured by Smug Married friends asking, "How's your love life?" with lascivious, yet patronizing leers, Bridget resolves to: reduce the circumference of each thigh by 1.5 inches, visit the gym three times a week not just to buy a sandwich, form a functional relationship with a responsible adult and learn to program the VCR. With a blend of flighty charm, existential gloom, and endearing self-deprecation, Bridget Jones's Diary has touched a raw nerve with millions of readers the world round. Read it and laugh--before you cry, "Bridget Jones is me!"

Enclosed within this box set are three of my zombie stories. The first two stories, The Unwashed Dead and Walking with Zombies are from my Zombie Armageddon series. The last story, ZombieDead is a stand-alone tale.

The Unwashed Dead
-------------------------

Breakspear Gardens was the roughest housing estate in the north of England. Smackheads, car thieves, burglars, violent ex-offenders, the estate had them all.

The residents thought they had seen every type of subversive human behaviour, but even they weren’t prepared when the dead began to walk.

In the midst of this sudden explosion of zombies crazing for live human flesh, A few locals manage to stay alive long enough to discover that the estate has been cut off from the outside world by gun toting soldiers.

Can they avoid their recently dead friends, family and neighbours from trying to consume them to find an alternative way out of the estate?

Walking with Zombies
------------------------
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Stockholm Club.

Have we got a special treat for you tonight! We’re privileged to have with us, a highly talented county and western singer, all the way from exotic Birmingham. I know that you’ll give the lad a fantastic Yorkshire welcome.

Don’t forget, the first drink is on the house.

Now before all you geriatric parasites slouch over to the bar and start making your way through my alcohol, I’d just also like to mention that there is a chance that some of my staff may turn into flesh eating zombies as the night wears on.

In fact, I think I can confidently predict that most of you will resemble jackal stripped zebra carcasses before the dawn sun makes an appearance.

So please enjoy tonight’s live entertainment and drink like there’s no tomorrow. Let’s face it; you ain’t going to be seeing it.
--------------------------------------------------------------

Despite attempts to quarantine the Breakspear housing estate, the infection has somehow spread further into the city. Whole neighbourhoods are falling to the undead plague.

On the outskirts, the staff and customers of the Stockholm Club have no idea that the moaning dead are slowly shambling towards them.

This story is the second book in the Zombie Armageddon series that started with The Unwashed Dead.

ZombieDead
--------------

The rotting dead slowly clawed their way through the hard packed grave soil. The risen corpse only had one purpose, to feed on the living.

Somewhere on the welsh border; the insular village of Seeton continues its usual business unaware that the world around them is falling prey to the reanimated dead. Their routine lives are abruptly turned on their heads when a lone scientist arrives in their village with the virus close behind.

Dean Kasnovski had arrived home, his mind laden with the guilt of leaving his fellow researchers to perish in the secret laboratory hidden deep under the streets of London.

Dean is positive that a cure can be found but he’s quickly running out of time. As the villagers, departed loved ones return to feast on their warm bodies, Seeton’s surviving population direct their hate at the strangers in the village.

After her favorite aunt is found dead and an alarming box is mysteriously left on the doorstep of her aunt's house now legally hers, Lavinia Esposito wants explanations. But, having cleared the package of explosives, the local cops are dumbounded by the precious stones which came without an explanation, just an address, her Aunt Livvy's. Frustrated by the cops' refusal to share their theories, criminal justice instructor Lavinia Esposito, a.k.a. Vinnie, takes investigation matters into her own hands. Vinnie is soon dragged into situations beyond her control, finding herself in hot water with the law, the crooks, and her Italian father. Cameron's Law by Mia Darien

Vampires are people, too.

Cameron's Law has made all supernatural creatures legal citizens, and the boy next door has suddenly become the werewolf next door. With Sadie Stanton, vampire and one of the public faces of the legislation, calling the little town of Adelheid, Connecticut home, it can't help but be a focal point for these once mythical beings.

But when vampires start attacking werewolves without provocation, Adelheid draws the attention of those that would seek to have Cameron's Law repealed and would send the preternaturals back into the shadows they used to hide in, but without the safety of their anonymity and their law.

Can Sadie keep the city's two biggest species from descending into chaos and war before it brings all of them to harm? And can she do it when she herself gets thrust into the spotlight?

Deadly Gamble by Connie Shelton

In this debut mystery series novel, Charlie Parker, accountant and partner in an Albuquerque private investigation firm, is visited by her old school friend, Stacy North. Stacy's Rolex watch is missing and she begs Charlie to help locate it before her husband finds out. Things are complicated by the fact that Stacy had been seeing another man, Gary Detweiller, and he's the one she suspects of having stolen the watch. With a little detective work, Charlie retrieves the missing watch and all should be well. But three days later, Detweiller is murdered. All eyes turn to Stacy as the prime suspect.

Once again, Stacy begs Charlie's help in proving her innocence. As she begins to ask questions, Charlie learns that Detweiller's life was not as simple as first perceived and that any number of people had grievances against him. And before she can pinpoint the killer, her own life is in danger as well.

Invisible by Lorena McCourtney

She's not your average crime fighter!

Ivy Malone has a curiosity that sometimes gets her into trouble, and it's only aggravated by her discovery that she can easily escape the public eye. So when vandals romp through the local cemetery, she takes advantage of her newfound anonymity and its unforeseen advantages as she launches her own unofficial investigation.

Despite her oddball humor and unconventional snooping, Ivy soon becomes discouraged by her failure to turn up any solid clues. And after Ivy witnesses something ominous and unexplained, she can't resist putting her investigative powers to work again. Even the authorities' attempts to keep Ivy out of danger and her nosy neighbor's match-making schemes can't slow her down. But will the determination that fuels this persistent, quirky sleuth threaten her very safety?

The Case of the Flashing Fashion Queen by N.L. Wilson - KBOD

The Case of the Flashing Fashion Queen by N.L. Wilson
$0.99

I absolutely LOVED this book. It was funny, sexy, and 100% chick lit. If you love mysteries and romantic comedies, you are going to love this book.

Tired of getting no respect at the big P.I. firm where she's worked for years, Dix Dodd has hung out her own shingle at the ripe age of 40. There are plenty of cheating husbands to go around, and Dix has a knack for busting them. Problem is, it doesn't always pay so well. Conscious that the guys back at the old firm are laying bets about how soon she'll come crawling back, she figures she's got six months to make a go of it. The going gets even tougher when she hires Dylan Foreman. But when he told her about getting fired from his law firm and disbarred for putting common decency before the firm's interests, she hired him on the spot. In addition to being smart, he's gorgeous enough to remind her she's a woman. And at 28, young enough to make her feel like a total cougar. Things start looking up when Dix gets hired by millionaire businessman Ned Weatherby's wife Jennifer Weatherby, to tail Ned 24/7 for a week, for a cool ten grand. Easy-peasy, right? Wrong! The job lands Dix in the middle of a murder investigation - with her as the prime suspect and her arch-enemy Detective Richard Head (a.k.a., Dickhead, one of the cheating husbands she'd nailed) gunning for her. Dix will need all her ingenuity, as well as the help of Dylan and her oddball cast of supporters to extricate herself from this one.

The Wars of Gods and Men by Brondt Kamffer

But the God of Osland is displeased, and he brings an army of barbarians against his people in order to force their repentance.

Kjar Kolrig, the leader of that barbarian army, is driven by his own lust for conquest, having succeeded where no man had before in unifying the scattered tribes of Vistgard. The Snow Owl by Jon Hartling

But one winter day, when seven year-old Eric sculpts a snow owl in his backyard, he seems to set in motion events that cannot be anything but magical. Now Ben faces the terrifying prospect of losing his only child to a wintry spirit… a spirit that just might be the boy’s true father.

The Dragon Horn (Alternate Europe) by Vaughn Heppner

There were no prophecies concerning Ivan, no strange heritages, no noble blood and he had no magical powers. He was Belgorod Holding’s dog boy, a hard-working orphan who took care of the hounds. His greatest gifts were plain common sense and fierce loyalty to his friends.

Then one day, an arrogant, silver-haired knight with a band of ruffians arrived by sleigh. The knight had a letter from the king, allowing him to hire farmers with his bag of gold. He wanted help to dig for treasure in the Old Forest.

Bad luck followed the knight’s arrival. Giant wolves began to appear. A strange flute played in the forest at twilight, luring a calf to its death. Then Yury the Squire almost died while hunting with the visitors. It was an evil time to go into the forest.

Ivan soon knew that the knight was not who he seemed. The treasure was for more than gold and the lives of his friends and the fate of a kingdom rested on him and the courage of his dogs.
