Amazon's Unlimited Instant Videos Vs Netflix

As a Kindle Fire owner, you have many options when it comes to watching movies and TV shows on your device. If you happen to also be an Amazon Prime member, you even have the chance to watch free TV shows are movies through Amazon's Unlimited Instant Video service. Of course, another popular option is Netflix, which you can watch for free on your Kindle Fire if you're already a member of Netflix's Unlimited Streaming service. Do you really need both services though? If you're an Amazon Prime member, do you really need to spend more money for Netflix?

As an Amazon Prime member and a Netflix subscriber, I have access to both services and personally preferred Netflix and thought of Amazon's Unlimited Instant Video service as a great perk to my Prime membership. However, Netflix and Starz recently ended their contract which resulted in the loss of over 1,000 movies and TV shows. I lost about 25 movies that were on my instant queue, but still have several good ones to choose from.

After a quick browse through Amazon's collection, I see that they have many of the same shows and movies that Netflix offers. Of course, I can easily watch Netflix on several different devices including my smartphone and PS3. However, as a Kindle Fire user, I would be happy just to have the service offered by Amazon. In other words, if you're just looking for an option to watch videos on your Kindle, go with an Amazon Prime membership. Not only do you have access to 10,000 movies and TV shows, but you also get to borrow books from Amazon's Lending Library. Not to mention, free 2-day shipping.
